Miri Blackwood

Miri Blackwood has always lived with one foot in the past and one in the shadows. Growing up surrounded by the rich history of colonial Philadelphia and New Jersey and a found love for dark paranormal, she is drawn to the places where history and the supernatural could collide.

She wrote years ago under the pen name Marianne LaCroix. She gained various recognitions for her writing, earning a Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award (RT Award) Nominee for Best Erotic Romance & Erotica (2004) for her book Descendants of Darkness. (It was one of the first ebooks taken seriously by readers and reviewers for an award by RT magazine.)

She took a writing break for several years--raising twins, three marriages, two divorces (both with some form of domestic abuse), and one convicted offender put in jail. She uses her experiences (good and bad) to flavor her characters, giving them a depth uniquely her own.

She writes from her home in Tallahassee, Florida with her loving, nerdy husband (That's hubby #3, the LAST one!), an adorable (but naughty) dachshund, an overused Keurig to feed her coffee addiction, and the occasional unexplained creak in the walls. She wouldn't have it any other way.
